I just bought a vanguard 3400 with gravostyle 98 from EBAY. My problem is the seller did not tell me it does not have the software.Does anyone know where I can buy the software?

Baldy,

Do you mind sharing a link to your successful auction bid? I would love to see the description for this item, as I think you may have been hood-winked, if indeed it said it ncluded GravoStyle 98. The reason I say that is because this software will cost you thousands of dollars.

Gravostyle software is only available from New Hermes Gravograph. I'm not sure if Gravostyle 98 is still available because they have introduced Gravostyle 5, which drives lasers and mechanical engravers.

I looked on Ebay and noticed that the two most recent Vanguard 3400's that have sold show that they should have included the software. One of the auctions displayed it with the pictures but did not mention it in the description. The other auction specifically says it includes the software. I am not sure which auction was yours.

In addition to the software, you need the dongle which will allow the software to run.

I checked I do have the dongle. Thank you for your help.

If you have the machine and dongle and still have the packaging, go back and look for a couple of diskettes....

It just doesn't make sense to include the dongle and not the diskettes in the package.

(but stranger things have happened...)

Just call New Hermes. They have a technical support department that can mail you the disk. Make sure that the dongle is yellow. There should be a serial number on the side.

Baldy,

I spoke with New Hermes and they said that since you have the dongle, they would send you the Gravostyle 98 software on disk for $10.

Thank You for your help. I order the disk from Nem Hermes for $10.00.

Since the dongle is the protection, the disk is copyable for backup if you copy the files and folders.

For backup it is not infringement, only copying the dongle would be.

[I am no liar, oops lawyer, but I believe that is the case.]
