I suppose I should.

Dave and all, the get-together was great, although sparsely attended. Aside from LOML and me, only one other engraver was there, Chris Tegard from here in Albuquerque. We had one lady from WoodCentral/Women in Woodworking, one man from WoodCentral/Family Woodworking, and another couple from several woodworking and pen forums that we've known for a while. We are planning to try another one, probably in April, and hope to have more there.

I couldn't figure out how to post the pictures here--guess I need tutoring! As a matter of fact, if there's a way to post a tutorial on here, and make it a sticky, it would help some of us newbies.

If you let me know how to post the pictures, I'll put them up here too.

Nancy

Nancy,

Sometimes, smaller groups are better for getting to know one another. Too many people and there isn't enough time. Of course, as they say, the more the merrier. :-)

It all depends on the timing, as to if I can make it to your next shindig. I have a friend who moved to Arizona, who I could visit along the way. I'd prefer to drive, so I can see what's between California and New Mexico.

I don't get around very much. :-)

Regarding photos, if you're talking about attaching pictures to a post, there's a video tutorial in this post:

If you're talking about embedding a photo within a thread, that's something you do by creating a link to your photo(s) on your web site.

If you don't have a web site, I can add the photos to a post for you. You'd just have to email them to me.

OK, I think I may have it right this time. Here are the pictures from our 17 February get-together here in Albuquerque. We had a good time, laughed a lot, learned a lot, and met some new friends.

First picture is LOML David and John Downey from Corona, NM.

Second is Johanna Johanson from Placitas and Chris Tegard from Albuquerque.

Third is Mike and Rita Robertson from Albuquerque.

Fourth is yours truly, David, and John.

Last picture is one of the name tags we made for the group. We made a few extras (and took a Sharpie) in the event that we had some extra guests. The name tags went over very well, and we'll do it again--maybe a rabbit or an Easter egg for April.

Thank you Nancy.

Next best thing to being there. :-)

Dave, if I give you three weeks' notice, will that give you enough lead time to arrange to be here? I'm tending toward April 21--enough time to get past the AAW and AWA meetings on the 7th and 14th. Don't start making firm plans yet, but that looks like a good date. Besides, the taxes will have been done and we can all complain about how much Uncle Sam stole from us this year.

Nancy,

That would be plenty of notice.

Depends on what business is like at the time. I'm still a one-man band.

I don't need a note from my Mom, but I may need one from my customers. :-)
