Does anybody use the Hix Hobby Lite Heat Press? It is marketed as a hobbyist, start up machine.
How about the Geo Knight Jet Press 12. It is marketed the same way.
Both are in the $300 - $350 range. Both have 9" x 12" area and both are swing away. Only advantage I have for the Hix is it is made here in Kansas so would be cheaper to get shipped.

The Jet Press and Hobby Lite, are, as you say, entry-level presses, although I know some people who have been using them for years and handling a wide variety of jobs.

Music to my ears gentlemen.
I think I will be able to stink my toes into the world of sublimation with one of these presses and my newfound buddies supplying the transfers in the short term.

I hope you meant, stick my toes into the world of sublimation!
No problem. I can't smell anything from here. :-)

Without having anything to compare it to, I say it seems to work well. We have just done a few small jobs so far. But it did work well with the subliplaques and metal so it was good to have an adjustable thickness swingaway.
We tested the Magic Touch paper with it to and seems to work.
