OK, I think I have a good allturnitive to the columns feature. Try this, it works in both G98 and G5:

- Go to manual mode and select left justification for text.
- Click out on your layout (towards the left side of the plate) to start a baseline. You will notice it runs all the way to the other side of the plate.
- Go to the baseline length box and enter the disired width of the column such as 2".
- Click on the text icon and then start typing in the column. Hit enter to create the next line. The base line should stay the same as you make the first column.
- To make the other columns, there are two ways to do this:
1. Click on the slection tool and then click on the column. It should turn all red.
2. Hold the control and shift key and click on the column and drag it off to the right until you have it placed where you want it and let up on the button. Holding the control & shift keys should allow you to drag the column on axis and also copy it.
The second way is for those who have Graphic level in G98 or G5 Discovery:
1. Click on the slection tool and click on the column so it turns red.
2. Click on duplication tools and select the multi copy function. In there, you can tell it how many columns you want and the spacing.

-Once the columns are made, click on the next column so only that one is red.
- Click on the text tool and just start typing. Hit enter to go to the next line. This allows you to easily create columns of different lengths.

Hope this helps
