The interior walls on my shop are finally being finished today and I spent the day working on graphics and blasting wine bottles. Fun! When the bottle is empty or has no label it is pretty easy but when you are blasting a full bottle and need to keep the label it gets pretty time-consuming protecting the label from grit and water. Do any of you with wine bottle experience have any suggestions for doing them? Also what do you use for pricing guidelines? I was amazed at the time it took per bottle. I know I'll get faster and better but I already have an inn that does a lot of weddings asking me questions.

Jim... I have done it with the laser and charged $15.95 with simple text.. art and other designs.. i was charging up to $25.00 for with the customer supplying the bubblie.

What I do when blasting champ bottles is to lay a cut out of paper the size of the label (i use pages from old telephone directories) and mask them over the label, leave this in position till the painting has taken place and remove

Jim,
I charge a minimum of $35 for one of our standard designs. If we get into any custom work at all, the minimum charge is $50. Discounts are offered for quantities of the same design, be it standard or custom work.
I don't use water on any of my wine bottle etching or cleaning process, other than using a damp paper towel to remove some stubborn glue from label removal.
I use a combination of plastic wrap and masking tape to protect labels and sections of the bottle I don't want damaged by grit or spray enamel.
