All
I need help from someone who is proficient in tweaking the Registry Values.
I have to permanently delete Norton Antivirus 2006 from my system before i can instal a new virus program provided by my ISP.

I have completed all the window based deletion procedures but as all are aware, norton is a pest.

In the registry, i have managed to delete a few of the entries pertaining to Symantic but am not able to delete the rest. e.g;
HKEY LOCAL MACHINE/SOFTWARE/SYMANTIC

There are a few other entries as well and I dont wish to touch them until i am sure what I am doing.

I have to remove every instance of Symantic and need help on how to do it without messing up the registry.

Anyone
Abdul

I've never used Norton Antivirus, but have you tried the Norton removal tool?

The Norton Removal Tool uninstalls all Norton 2007/2006/2005/2004/2003 products from your computer. Before you continue, make sure that you have the installation CDs or downloaded installation files for any Norton products that you want to reinstall. Also, if you use ACT! or WinFAX, back up those databases and uninstall those products.

Abdul,

I wrestled with my computer today and resolved the problem as well. I'll join in your celebration! :D

Way out of my area of expertise, but I always love to hear happy endings.

That should make for a happier New Year! :-)

Not my area of expertise either. I just love learning on the fly. I do it every day. :-)
