we use a 1212, 1624 and the vision max and have few complaints. The machines have run flawlessly for over 7 years, the support when we need it has been great and our rep has always had an answer whenever we have needed it.
If you have any questions about the machine, please feel free to give me a call.
BTW, I still can't convince my engravers to switch over to Vision Pro (EngraveLabs) from the old Vision for Windows software. Even though we use the old software, we are still pretty proficient.

This pertains to my experience with New Hermes.
When I switched from the DOS style software, putting in all baselines, etc., to the WYSIWYG software it did give me a little trouble. It was easier because I have worked with Corel a lot.
My wife was virtually terrified. It took her a while to get the hang of it, but she now does things she never thought possible without even having to think about it.
Do the move. It may slow you down for a few days, but you will be really happy you did it within a week. You just have to get your mind out of thinking about the baselines and let the program do what it is made to do. If you do not like where something is visually, you have even more ability to move it.

I have had a Phoenix 1212 for 9 years, with a Series II controller.
This last winter I had my first problem with it and had to ship it all back to PHX for them to test and eventually replaced the rails. It was a hassle to ship it back/forth, but considering I've had to do nothing to the machine in 9 years I decided it wasn't bad.
I run Vision for Windows, as another replyer mentioned and it has been very sufficient for us. We are not a large shop but run the machine most days. I would like to try using Corel to engrave from, but haven't tackled it yet.
