Tony,
The cheapest I have ever done a wine bottle is $25 ea. That was for an order of 60 bottles. I would laugh at a price request of $10, and be insulted at an insistence to do it for $5. This middleman has obviously never sandcarved.
A good barometer are the companies who supply wine bottle etching to the ad specialty industry. Etching Industries is one of the leaders. Here is a link to their site. http://www.etchingindustries.com/HTML/CustomPricing.html

David,
I imagine a lot of extra care has to be taken, to preserve the original labels.

I recently sold my sandblasting equipment because too many people believe $5 is the price for etching a wine bottle and such. Even $10 isn't enough.
