This one was particularly difficult to photograph, because as the name implies, it's basically a mirror. The photo really doesn't do it justice. The impact is something you truly have to see in person, to fully appreciate.
Here's the breakdown:
1) Solid walnut desk easel from Big Sky Woodcrafters.
2) Brite brass plate, with inkjet sublimated image, then epoxy domed.
In areas where there's no color, the brass background shows through as a gold mirror.
I can't imagine a smoother transition of the gradient could be had with a laser printed transfer.EDITED: 15 Apr 2007 by DGL

Thank you Don.
There's a little bit of a "fun house mirror" thing going on with the picture, but I hope you get the essence. :-)
The reflection is of the evening sky.

David,
Got it just fine and printed it to see how it printed. Gradient looked good but I can't use it (I forgot to mirror image it, I have only been at this for 18 years !). I will look around town for some bright brass tomorrow.
I will send you the finished piece to compare when I find some.
Mick
