Chuck,

From what I know of John, he's not easily bothered. :-) 

I was actually thinking along the same lines. If we could rope someone into being the official EE photographer, photos could be sent to John, which could be turned into a slide show for those who couldn't attend.

I don't know if there are rules against cameras being on the show floor, but it would be great to get some shots of impressive new products etc. to include in the slide show.

Next best thing to being there. :-)

In the past, it was one of the few trade shows that welcomed cameras.

I'll bring my camera.....I think the photo gallery should have an upload feature so that way anyone can share their vegas stuff, but I'm happ to be the EE photo dude.

As for product specific pics I believe there are infact rules about that. I know there were at the NBM show anyway.....but I'll smuggle mine in for some GENERIC shots......better to ask forgiveness that permission....... (devil)

The forum is a form of media, why not ask for a press pass and camera rule exemption. ;-)

I've heard there are folks on the ARA administrative side, who are fans of the forum.

Either that, or just monitoring the activity. :-) 

Either way, we'll find out what the current rule is.

OK gang,

We've narrowed down the night of the EE get-together to Thursday, March 2nd at 6:00 pm.

The next question is, of those coming to Las Vegas, how many plan to attend the Thursday night meet/greet?

If we have 40-50 people, we may want to consider approaching Quark's or The Beach (located across the street from the Convention Center) to work out a group rate for a one-price-fits-all buffet w/drinks deal.

Actually, I've requested information from The Beach. I'll post an update, when I receive their call/email.

They're set up for private parties and Thursday isn't prime time in their world, so we may be able to get a good deal.

Maybe this is a good time to put Chuck Burke's negotiating skills to the test. :-)

Chuck,

We can talk to Quark's as well. I only suggested The Beach, because private parties are their specialty.

Their location is as convenient to the Convention Center as Quark's.

In any case, the number of people who can commit to a Thursday night gathering, will be a crucial factor.

Safety in numbers. :-)
