David,

You said
quote:
I was confronted with the opportunity to invest in my future and buy another piece of (used) equipment. I decided to do so and justified it by using as much of my liquid resources as I could. That meant no show, but a good long-term business decision.

Is this the piece you and I were talking about?

Cindy,
I am just catching up on threads after being away. I am sorry to hear about your husband. I am sure that I can speak for all of us and say our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Take care.

David,
You said

I assure you this event will be strictly educational.

Does this mean those of us enrolled in the ARA continuing education can get CEU credit toward our CRM?

Chuck & everyone else. Thanks for the good thoughts and wishes. This has turned into a twilight zone type of situation. We were scheduled for the angiogram yesterday morning, but due to a delay on the patient that was having surgery before my husband's turn, by the time it was my husband's turn, he had severe stomach pain. The cardiologist would not do the surgery until they figured out the pain part, so off to the emergency room instead. Spent all yesterday at the hospital and after many, many tests (a couple of new Jaguars for the Doc's now!), about 10pm last night they figured out that my husband now had appendicitis. So he is about 15 minutes away from having that removed, and then they will reschedule the heart stuff.
Big dilemma last night - could not decide whether the heart would hold up to the appendectemy, but the appendix is so infected that they have to get it out. Catch 22. I guess the surgeon who does the appendix needed the new yachat more:)
I shudder to think what all this is costing, even with pretty decent insurance. We'll be in debt for this for years. This is what you get I guess for turning 50, which Kirk did last year! My turn this year -lucky thing I have maj. med for 6 million max.
Back to the hospital to be there for recovery. This is just really crazy and hope it is over soon, with good results.
Again, thanks for the good wishes and thoughts. They mean alot.
Cindy M

If you're on the fence about attending ARA Las Vegas, visit the Yahoo Trophy and Award Engravers forum (under Links of Interest) where Jim Williams (Host) makes a good case for making the trip.

David~
Bad news! I just got off the phone with the owner of A Blast and found out that the laser company we were going to share booth space has broken things off. They have decided not to support sandcarving saying that sandcarving does not support laser engraving. I don't agree in the least bit. I guess that is why I am where I am an not the president of a big corporation.

We are not going to Vegas now, so we are going to miss meeting you and all the great members of this forum, and the party at the Beach. Not to mention the cool badges that Epilog is making. Any way I could still get one of those cool badges? We are hoping that next year we will either be attending the show as members of ARA for our shop or possibly as vendors with A Blast.

Thanks and I hope you have a great show!
