Raster Braille can in fact be done in any type of material including glass. Yes, Raster Braille uses the friction fit of the material to keep the Raster in place with signs made of engraving material or material that possesses a "memory". You can also do Raster Braille in harder material such as metal or glass that does not possess a memory using the adhesive assist method.

Accent Signage has done Braille signs in glass in the past, but it is an extremely time consuming and expensive process. It can be done!

Angie,

What's the method used, for creating openings for braille beads, in glass?

You are referring to the Raster Method of Braille. This process involves drilling a hole and placing a small spherical object inside of that hole to produce domed shaped Braille.

Thank you Angie.

Are there methods, other than raster, for producing braille on glass?

David,

I really don't know a lot of information about other methods of putting Braille on glass. I do know that it is possible to diamond etch or sandblast the braille into the glass, but unfortunately I don't have any detailed information. If you would like to know more about the Raster Method, please give me a call.

Angie,

Your explanation makes sense. Thank you for taking time, from your busy schedule, to address our questions.
