Full Version: Address labels..where are they?!?

This is not a function I use too often (clearly) but I am trying to make company labels for the back of my dash plaques and awards for a car show this weekend. This is the first time I have designed the logo and label in Corel (I usually use a different program)
I can find the business cards and what looks to me like envelopes. All I want is a simple Avery standard size label template. Is there such a thing in Corel.
Not like I am asking for world peace here!!! AAGGHH LOL
(If I had emoticons, I would insert a smiley here)
Thanks for he help

Avery is usually pretty good about listing measurements (margins/gutters etc...). Maybe you can use guides or rectangles and set up the page manually? If you are using the same tag, just make one and duplicate it.

Does anyone know, off hand, if CorelDraw saves the page format with the drawing or does it just reference a layout name? In other words, would it be possible for someone to save the Avery layout that she is looking for as a blank CDR and send it to her?
Just a thought.....

She didn't mention the label number, I don't believe. But I think that would work and it's a good idea.

I thought of that (just emailing me the template) not long after I posted.
I am using Corel 12 and I am looking for Avery 5160 1"x 2 5/8"
If someone has the template and could it email it to me, I would be eternally grateful.
Thanks

I think you meant to ask Becky those questions. She said she found the envelopes and business cards so I assumed she was in the right place and Harvey commented that installing the Label templates was not the default on some versions.
You may be right, though. The business cards and envelopes aren't in the Layout>Page Setup They are in "New from Template". There's a Label tab there but no Avery templates to be found. She probably tried to open a "New from Template", rather than going to Layout>Page Setup.

Try Layout>Page Setup and see if your Avery templates are there.

Holy Cow!!
I had no idea all of this stuff was in here!! I do a lot of work with labels but not much in Corel simply because I was comfortable with the program I was using and am still learning Corel.
What fantastic tools and shortcuts you both introduced!!
I was using New from Template and just figured that was all that was in there for labels and stuff.
Congratulations to both of you...you have done something my husband has been trying to get me to do for years.....stop using my old graphics program all together. (I hesitate to mention it by name for fear of being laughed out of this forum LOL)
I am total Corel convert now!!!
Thanks for you help everyone!!

This thread brings this question to mind.
When you package plaques or trophies that have different inscriptions, places, etc. do you label the outside of the packaging of each item?
I have always done but have opened MS Word and cut and paste or retyped the info. Having been shown where the label layouts are will make this much easier to do.
Thanks!

I do label the outside of each award but I don't print the labels. I usually just write right on the box very small and non descript or if one letter will be enough to distinguish, then I do that. Or I will just handwrite a label. Sometimes it's easier and faster.
Mostly mine are onesies that wouldn't justify a label. However, if I had repeats then I would generate labels. 'Specially now that I know how to in Corel!!! Woo hoo!!
(really doesn't take much to make this girl happy LOL)

On some special awards that come in boxes I have made a label that had a replica of the plaque on it.
Glad you brought it up, I have to start doing that again when appropriate.
