Joe,

In an earlier post I mentioned that this was a joint gift between the contractor and the State. The dozers were donated by the contractor, then the bases, sublimated plates and assembly were paid for by the State. The dozers were very, very nice.

I found out yesterday that a couple of these will end up in Washington D.C. One goes with the Senator Kit Bond and the other with Congressman Sam Graves.

My customer picked them up yesterday and told me that their list of recipients is longer than the 20 gifts they have to present. She broke the news to some of the individuals in her department that they would not be receiving one. They were a bit distraught.

Thanks for the additional info. It's always fun to do something for someone who really appreciates the craftmanship, art, tech skill and outside the box thinking it takes to make a unique piece. Very nice job. ;-)

"Phil Dirt & the Dozers" are still active in central Ohio and at least northern West Virginia.....

Tom:

I have heard them for years so didn't know whether they were still around. You never forget that name.

I'll be in touch with you later in the week.

Well, here is a feel-good e-mail I received from my customer on this mini-bulldozer project. It sounds like they were a big hit and I have a few more potential referrals out there for future projects.

Dave, I've been meaning to write you and let you know what a big hit your trophies were with the crowd at the Route AC (Riverside) groundbreaking. We didn't have any trouble finding them homes. Everyone wanted to know where we had them done, so I'm hoping that translates into business for you!

Thanks for doing such a great job, Dave. It's appreciated.
