Mike,
Thank you and Treavor for such a magnanimous gesture, and your kind words.
So here is the scoop. When the HP arrives, I will give my Epson 3170 to anyone who needs a scanner.....sort of my way to pay it forward....so to speak.
Thank you again Mike, for the scanner, for your help and mostly for your friendship. It means a lot.

I was looking at the pictures you posted and wondered if there's a way I can add some names to the photos, while I still remember who some of the people are? :-)
I see where people can add comments. Would that be the way to do it?

I have no doubt David was pleased with the plaque, it looks great.
People might think than someone in the awards industry would detest getting a plaque. That is not the case.
I gave the city a very steep discount on some medals we don't sell anymore and were just collecting dust for a visiting school group they had no budget for. (They also buy many things at regular price.) They took the time to send a personalized framed and signed paper certificate in appreciation. I hung it on the wall as I thought it was very nice of them and made me feel good about a simple thing.
Several years ago the late Stanley Marcus of the high end Neiman Marcus retail store chain wrote an OpEd piece to the Dallas Morning News suggesting that awards were basically a waste and a more appropriate reward would be a nice piece of Stueben Glass (not personalized). . . Guess who just happens to sell Stueben glass?
Our late founder, Bruce P. Robbins had a rebuttal, which was also published. There were some very good points, which I wish I could remember. But it ended something like . . . I can make any award I want
but the most cherished is the one that hangs on my wall . . .
presented to me as the Trophy Dealer of the Year by the TDMA.

You make a good point.
As much as people made fun of what was supposed to be the "gag" plaque, I was deeply honored, because it was from the forum members.
Not saying I don't get a kick out of the "real" plaque. :-)

It's always interesting seeing photos of people that you've "talked" to on forums but never met. You tend to make up your own image of what they look like based on their words, but they're never the same as reality.
When I first saw that pic of Harvey I thought that Howard Hughes was back in Vegas. (insert laughter here while I run away very, very fast)

Dave,
I know what you mean. Knowing these people face-to-face makes the forum experience all that much more rewarding.
Meeting these folks in-person, helps us to determine how much chiding we can get away with. (devil)
Oh, and if Harvey didn't have such a keen sense of humor, I'd say you should be running. :-)

My problems with the photos is that I did not think that my hair got that white.
But I still have about half of what I used to have. (devil)
[Note to self: Think before you post.]
[Note to self: Why bother, you never did it before now.]

Harvey,
QUIT your whining. At least you HAVE hair. You could comb over your pony tail if you needed....or you could cut your ponytail off and give it to Joe Hayes whom I SURE would be HAPPY to have any hair at all .... ( insert gregarious, I'm just busting your chops, remember I kissed you bald head Joe laugh here )

Which reminds me....there were several, (and I mean several) bald-head smooches at that party that <sadly> were not immortalized forver on film......
I'm going to need to be a lot quicker next year..... ;-)
Especially since I think we will be adding several more follicly challenged party-goes to the mix 8-O

I have a pony tail and full beard too, but being a few years younger, my beard is mostly gray and my head hair is still fairly brown.
Give me a few years and I'll look like Howard Hughes (if Howard Hughes had the body of Humpty Dumpty).
