Do you think the people at www.3scoreinc.com are using the same process? One of their installs is a 1900 square foot swimming pool--they say only took 10 days to complete. I find this remarkable.

I went the their website, and it looks like they do mostly laser tile, but the other stuff looks beautiful. I especially liked the black granite tiles on the kitchen backslash and the floor. Awesome work.
Thanks for sharing. I don't know about their color stuff though.

Lasertile.com, a supplier of laserable tiles, is a division of 3scoreinc
I believe the colored "art mosaics" that 3score does are standard old style color mosaics using solid colored small tiles. They have what they call a "high speed placement system" for creating the tile mosaics.

I mentioned we had someone on our forum (you) to Thom and Terry and said you'd probably be a good candidate, due to your current work in stone and public art displays.
At the ARA show, the single most impressive piece of work (Atomic Art) I saw, was a black marble (granite?) mural, where the majority of the work was done in natural laser engraving, with Koi in the artwork produced in color.
It was in the Universal laser booth.
There's been no lack of controversy around this process, due to the licensing/training fee, which is about $4500.
The 4 days of training is very comprehensive and intense.
I think Paul Harrison (Thermark) put it succinctly, when asked why a person just couldn't buy Thermark and figure the Atomic Art process on their own.
He asked the questioner, "In your business, how much do your charge for your time?"
The person said, "$50 per hour."
Paul then asked, "Do you think you can figure this out in less than 100 hours?"
"No" was the answer.
I think that would hold true for most anyone trying to crack the code on this process that Thom and Terry have spent thousands of man hours developing.
