Lost the original reply due to IE.
The tentatively scheduled time is still 3 PM. I will probably be there at 12 also.
Yes, the night before and it is still tentative.

The rain was heavy but Dee decided to go north until the road conditions deteriorated. From one exit on the Garden State to the next it went from rain to over two inches of sleet on the road. We went a little farther to an area we knew and for some reason then kept going.
4 1/2 hours later we made it back to Elizabeth NJ. Then Steve decided not to take our hospitality and to drive home. He is a professional driver as well as an engraver, but I thought he was nuts.
We enjoyed the show and meeting the other EE people. Then Bill Albert, Gary Shoemake, Steve, Dee and I went to Applebees for dinner. A mini Beach Party near the beach. So the weather was very similar to a hurricane, big deal.

As soon as I hit the NJ Tpke, things were clearing up on the road and when I got across the bridge to NY, the roads were plowed, sanded and salted so I had a clear run home.
The show seemed small to me, but it is my first and I have nothing to compare it to. Met great people and had a good time despite the weather. Although the show was small, I think I found a few good vendors and got some ideas to start building my product lines.
I want to thank Harvey, but more importantly Dee, for dragging me down to AC with them and I don't care what Harvey says.... Dee did a great job getting us back to civilization.
Next year, Vegas!!! (so I have something to compare it to!) 8-O

The show was actually larger than years past. There were vendors there that had not been there (or so I remember) in the past. However, the weather was horrible. Steve counted 18 accidents on our drive down.
I felt sorry for the vendors. There were so few "customers" there for them. I hope they get more today (Saturday). They could not possibly pay their expenses judging by the amount of shoppers. I did see a few people wearing ids that said "non member buyers". Those must have been the freebies that were spoken about here earlier.

After the drive home, if you ever get tired of the engraving business, I know a limo company that is looking for "a few good drivers"! (angel)

Well, I didn't make it to Jersey again this year. :(
My son has post-season hockey tournament that started last night. We were supposed to play at 7pm last night, but Thursday they contacted us and moved the game to today. So, wish us luck!
I would still love to have the badge if its possible. Let me know what I need to do to get it.
Thanks
Harold

Gary, Harvey, Dee, Steve, Bill it was really great meeting you all. Sorry we didn't win enough for the laser engravers or the dinner out. We did come home with some money (which I believe means success). Saturday had more people than Friday - but selfishly Friday was great because we could spend lots of time with vendors. I went to the Corel seminar this morning - learned lots of new things.
Thank you David for the badges - I'm looking forward to learning how to make them! I had a few people ask me about the group and I pointed them in the right direction.
One day maybe I'll make it to Vegas - I'll have to have more employees in order to do that - and I'd have to come solo - Hubby doesn't fly?!?!

I have badges that I'll be mailing out next week, to people who requested them during the Las Vegas show roundup.
Harold,
Although you provided an address, I second-guessed myself and sent the badge to Mike (Kamark) along with the others. Hopefully, whoever has the badges for people who couldn't make the show, will send it your way.

Even though it was a couple of days of nasty weather, the opportunity to finally meet some of the members of EE outweighed it. It was a pleasure to catch up with everyone. The short time together really made me look at my schedule and make sure that the Las Vegas dates are clear. I want to thank Mike of Kamart International for graciously agreeing to be the "go to" place at the show. Dee, I think that yourself, Harvey, and Steve should be given the Pathfinder Award for your perserverance in conquering that nasty weather north of Atlantic City. I spent 31 years as a telephone splicer and I always "hated" that type of weather.
I believe that Debbie Gillett made it to the show on Sat. but I missed meeting her. As I have the EE badges,Barbara, Harold, and Steve if you would PM me with a mailing address I will mail the badges to you Monday morning.
Just a short note in the way of a report. AS Bill and Dee reported the show was small although I believe with more vendors not many but more. It looks however that this may be the last show in this area as several ARA board members are speaking of having them in the Orlando area from now on. How that will affect the Northeast will remain to be seen.
It was a real pleasure to meet everyone and we eventually as Bill told the forum have a mini mini Beach party at the Beach. There were several vendors that commented on the badges that we wore, and often asked what company is this? To which I replied the 411 and 911 of this industry. Got a few looks and inquiries with that one.
Frank Ricci AKA Chewbarka was one of the vendors who really promoted the forum. I visited with him and his wife Debbie several times during the show and when he introduced me to the folks visiting his exhibit he would state that he knew me through the "best" forum for engravers on the net. If you need any info go to enravingetc.org and ask they are the best, he would then point to my badge.
Again it was a great time for me and I'm very happy to be part of the EE family.

Harold, I made it there on saturday and seen your badge by mine. It took us forever to get there. What should have taken 10 hours to get into Philly (stayed there friday and saturday night, taking advantage of the sites there today) took us 16 hours. The highway was horrible. PA it started snowing by the time we were in the middle of the state we were only going about 35 mph. We treked the rest of the way in but it was pretty bad and we get some bad storms here in Michigan. We will finally be home tomorrow stopped over tonight in a town near Harrisburg PA. I thought the show was good. I think I was expecting much more as well. Never been to a engraving show but have been to my other business industry shows that take place in michigan so I am pretty familiar with them. I got a couple of good product leads and think over all it was good to be able to go. I would love to make it to Las Vegas next year.

P.S. Thanks David for the badge.

The road conditions before they got bad.

Cathy & her husband Bob. It was their first night away from home in over 2 years. They elected not to go to dinner with us. ;-)

Harv & I

Gary Shoemake. He was so helpful in all ways trying to keep us from being stranded.

Mike Thadani (Kamark) & I. Mike was kind enough to distribute our badges.

"Uncle Steve" & Bill Hibbert. Bill also was on the anti-stranded team. "Uncle Steve" was a great backseat driver. He never panicked!

Dee,
It's great to put a few more faces with names. It will make next year in Vegas a little easier for me.

David,
I'm not sure about that. We had about 60 people at this year's Beach Party, and I expect more next year.
Bring your photographic memory. :-)
It was nice to finally see Uncle Steve, in Dee's snap shots.
Must be an imposter. My mind's eye always had him much taller. :-)
