Just read the title of this thread when your message came into my inbox.
That was what I thought, but I wanted to be sure.

By the way...
You guys may have seen this in Vegas, but CerMark now has a NON-BLACK metal marking application.
It ASPIRES to be red, but it's more of a reddish-brown color.
I got to talk at length with Sean and Dave of CerMark, and they told me some of the things they were doing with the mixture to get a truer RED mark.
It will be expensive when it comes out, but I have a customer that LOVES the way CerMark looks in black, and will hand me a NICE purchase order for some black & red stainless applications when the red solution is released.

When we were at the show we stopped at Quality One and we thought the women there (Fred's wife?) told us that Cermark bought - merged with Thermak and the product that will now be available will be Thermark. After reading the press release at http://www.thermark.com/Ferro-TherMarkPressRelease.html perhaps we misunderstood. Fred if you read this could you please enlighten us.
Thank you.

I visited at the Ferro booth (manufacturers of Cermark) and they did indeed purchase Thermark. The gentleman I spoke with indicated they would be offering both products for the foreseeable future. Both products have their fans and detractors.

How do you cermark anodized alum? do you laser first thru the coating then apply the cermark and laser again. I'v been told you can not cermark on coated metals.
the part looks great

Ferro has a solution strictly for anodized metals It is LMM - 6046 It is a yellow paste. We have tested it and are not extremely happy with the results. It works but it is not a consistent process It seemed to vary from part to part.
We tested this a while ago so they may have improved it by now.

No pre lasering needed, just apply the cermark direct and blast away! ;-)
