I have a customer who needs a plaque for a couple who are adopting a brother & sister, they are 4 & 6 yrs old & have chosen new names & are really excited about the whole event. We have the names & dates but we really need a verse or a way of putting this together, something "warm & fuzzy". I can't remember ever seeing anything that would be appropriate & I was hoping someone here might have done something like this before & could help me out. TIA

Linda,
Go to a card store and look at the adoption cards. You may find something there. There is also a poem about being born in my heart. Try searching the internet.

Here's something I made up on the spur of the moment - feel free to amend it

Rodger and Susan

Into our home and lives the 2 of you came
One child brings joy , two bring so much more
You start afresh , each with a new name
We rejoiced when you walked through the door

A brand new family , raring to go
Together we are one , a mountain of love
From now to eternity we all just know
Wer'e being smiled on from high above

Your new Mom and Dad welcome you with all the love care and nurturing we can provide

Yeh maybe its a little Corny ;)

Thanks Rodney.

That's a nice verse & you can't be too corney when you're getting such a wonderful gift.

Dee, Thanks, I hadn't thought of a card store, I'd like to give this customer a choice.

Linda,

Here is another possibility.

When God brought us to each other
We knew we were blessed beyond measure
Now that we are a family
We want for you to know
You will always be our treasure

(Insert Date Here) forever will be
A date that brings a smile to our face
Birthdays and holidays will be more joyful
With the making of this family
By our Father's (or Lord's) Loving Grace

(Name 1) and (Name 2)
For your new life you each have a new name
Mom and Dad
For our new life we each have a new name
Forever changed for the better; our live's will never be the same

Linda,

Attached is a copy of the Adoption Creed. It may need to be ammended to address the adoption of siblings. If anything, it may inspire some further thought.

I gave my customer all the options that were suggested, attached is what she came up with. Thank you all for your help, the parents of these children were thrilled, which made my day. I wish I had taken a picture of the marble plaques, but I didn't think of it at the time. 1 plaque was oval the other round with their names in reverse order, so they each have a plaque with their name first.

Linda,

I would love to see what you ended up with, but I use Corel Draw 10. Could you post the image as a jpg for others who do not have Corel Draw at all? Thanks!
