The Awards & Custom Gift Show, co-located with The Printwear Show and The Sign Business & Digital Graphics Show, will be held in Long Beach, CA, beginning July 28 and running through July 30, 2005.

For more info on this, and the rest of the NBM show lineup, please visit www.nbmshows.com

I plan to attend this show, and will now begin a list of forum members, who you may meet while attending the show. As tradition has it, my name will top the list :-)

David Lavaneri (DGL Engraving)
John Cullington (New Zealand) BTW, this will be John's first trip to the U.S.A.

David: Please add Ed & Sharon Holley to the list. And also detail the where and when "social" part of the event. Isn't usually on Friday after the show? Where?

Ed,

I usually attend the show on a Friday, but I encourage people to set up get-togethers on all days of the show.

The Rock Bottom Brewery/Restaurant has been the past-favorite meeting locale.

Now, between restaurants across the street from the L.B. Convention and many along Pine St., (short walking distance from the L.B. Convention Center) there are many choices.

We have plenty of time to firm up the "after-party" but here's the important part.

Here are some people you can look forward to meeting at the Long Beach NBM show:

David Lavaneri (DGL Engraving)
John Cullington (New Zealand) BTW, this will be John's first trip to the U.S.A.
Mike Mackenzie (C.E.M. ULS)
Doug Jones (Lavivrus Woodworking)
Ed & Sharon Holley (Victor Valley...)

Oh....!! You mean there's actually going to be a trade show going on at the same time that we're getting together?

Also, I'm a bit concerned about the list. I already know the majority on the list so far and I'm concerned about those others that would choose to be seen with you (us). Hmmm......maybe the list will grow so as to tip the balance.

Ed,

The list could get a bit convoluted, but we could put the day(s) people are planning to attend, behind their names. That way, we'd know who will be at a get-together, on a given evening.

I may end up at the show for Fri/Sat. One day is seldom enough. I'll make that decision as the show draws nearer. Like you, I never tire of seeing the familiar faces, but I'd like to meet some of the unfamilair facses as well :-)

Don't forget to sign up for the Long Beach show before June 29th, 2005. That will guarantee FREE admission to the exhibit hall.

If you don't pre-register, expect to pay a $10 admission fee, which isn't a back-breaker, but doesn't FREE sound like a better deal? B-)

You can pre-register online at www.nbmshows.com

Pre-registering for the Awards & Custom Gift Show in Long Beach (and other venues) just got easier.

Located at the top of this page, click on the banner, which will take you to the NBM Shows web site.

Once you're on the site, click on the venue of your choice, which will lead you to a page where you can "Register Now!"

I'm already signed up!

See you there B-)

David,

We need an "official" forum night some where while we are there. Since you know the place better than the rest of us, is there a place somewhere close to the convention center we can have an EE get together?

Chuck,

Meeting places are popping up almost daily. Across the street from the convention center, there's a newly-built complex with several restaurants.

The old standby has been the nearby Rock Bottom Brewery.

Rock Bottom Brewery sounds ok to me. Perhaps a post about an EE get together? Or did I miss one that has already been done?

Chuck,

We haven't finalized an "official" meeting place yet. With people arriving on various days, I imagine there will be more than one opportunity.

The "Continental U.S." delegation is meeting after the show on Thursday and Friday. The "Hawaii/Pacific Rim/American Pacific" delegation meets on Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
