Full Version: For you - US States - Vector Fonts

I just stumbled across these US States Truetype Fonts and thought a lot of you could use these.

You can view them in Corel using the Insert Character Docker (Ver 12 uses Ctrl+F11 to open) and drag/drop them into your graphic as vector images.

Before anyone jumps on you, I checked out the copyright info in the liscense file. This font may be freely distributed as long as it is without fee.

I can handle it. B-)  No matter how hard I try to get out of the Tech side, the IT Monster in me is always lurking.

I checked too. That's why I included the zip file with the license so people would feel free to share it with others.

Looks like this guy got his training from Bill Gates, too. (devil)  Makes a lot fo sense to permit free distribution of the font so that anyone using it has to pay for it. >.<

Further along, under usage restrictions, is this paragraph:

This evaluation copy of Fonts Ink fonts has not yet been paid for. :O Users are granted a license to use it for evaluation purposes for a period of 10 days. If the software continues to be used it must be paid for. :'-( Details of payment and registration can be found below.

Text color, bold and underline as well as smilie/unsmilie faces are mine.

Michel,
Thank you for posting the fonts, ( even if only an evaluation version) I do have a question that maybe you can answer.
When I go to the insert character docker ( ctrl + F11) I only have limited "characters" to insert, with no browse option. How can I get the fonts you posted in?

Thanks

Hmmm... First, never overlooking the obvious, have you installed the font?

Assuming the font is installed, while in the Insert Character Docker, you should have a drop-down box for Font: at the top. Change the font to the one you want to look at, and then you can drag and drop that character into your drawing. You can also just view which keystroke is needed to create that character.

I have run into problems viewing installed fonts after I've played around with the Bitstream Font Navigator that came with Corel. Even though Windows (XP pro) shows the font is installed, the Insert Character Docker does not show it. I need to remove the font (via Control Panel, Fonts) and then re-install the font (via Control Panel, Fonts) before I can view the font in the Insert Character Docker. BTW I do not need to restart Corel after those changes.

Hope that helps.

Michel

Michel,

You are right, never overlook the obvious, but yes I DID install the font. I used Bitstream Font Navigator. I will try it using control panel and let you know how it worked.
About the "this is evaluation software and has not been paid for" it seems to ME that $20.00 might be worth it for those that need it. Thank you again for posting it.

I'm curious to see if the Control Panel method works for you too. Maybe it's because I can get around a computer without various add-on tools, but I find the Navigator to be unreliable. The few times that I have played with it just viewing fonts, I seem to have "missing" installed fonts afterwards. (Fortunately I keep regular back-ups.)

I personally have no need for the State outlines, but since that question comes up so much on the forums, I too think the $20 would be worth it to some.

In Corel 9 you have to right click something near the top of the docker and check 'Show all characters'. Unfortunately in my current installation it does not stick when I choose another font, so choose the font first.
