This from ZD What's New:

Inside Microsoft's "Photoshop Killer"

It's called Acrylic, and Microsoft has designed it to compete with Photoshop. It's got a range of nifty new features, including neat brush strokes, nice new filters and an interesting way to combine pixel and vector layers. Will it supplant Photoshop or even Adobe's Illustrator? Our preview has details, including how you can download the free beta, and check for yourself.

Yes that is only if you try to "Save as" but if you go to "Export" you are able to save to .pdf, .ai, .eps, .psd, .tif,.jpg, .gif etc.
