Full Version: The Rumor Mill

What I call a strong rumor, says those of you with small format (8.5 x 11/14) desktop printers, using bulk ink systems with ArTainium (Tropical Graphics) sublimation ink, (refillable with 70 ml, 125 ml bottles and up), should prepare yourselves for the day when you won't be able to buy bottles of ink, and the only bulk ink system available for your printer will be Sawgrass Technologies' "Quick Connect" bulk ink system.

For those of you not familiar, the "Quick Connect" system, feeds ink to the printer, from (non-see-through) mylar bags, which reside next to the printer.

I have no experience with the "Quick Connect" system, to know if it's a better ink delivery system than the "jar" systems. My suspicion is the move to the mylar bags will be to further tie the hands of ArTainium distributors and their small format printer customers.

No timeline, but from what I hear, that's your future.
