Automated Transfer Technology, Inc. has announced their introduction of a superior, new sublimation laser toner for the Ricoh 7100 printer.

Their announcement indicates that you can print your own Sublilaser transfers at a speed of 28 per minute at .47 per print at 2400 DPI. The Ricoh 7100 has a format size that prints up to 12" x 18".

A color profile is not required for this toner.

The toner is available now in cartridges from:
www.imagesolutions.com
www.laserreproductions.com
www.atttransfer.com

This toner is said to have superior quality when pressed on ceramics with all coatings, and also on SofLink or 50/50 shirts. The announcement conveyed that 100% cotton shirts would have a 20% fade after the first couple of cold washes.

John,

What even makes this more enticing is the fact that it is laser sublimation on 100% cotton. Bye, bye ink clogs.

I have not found any information on pricing. None of the listed distributor's websites have information on the product yet.

Like any new product, I prefer not to be the one who blazes the trail. I have been burnt enough from blazing trails to know that it is better for others to do the beta testing.

I do know that Al has done a great deal of testing with this product, so it is likely to be worth looking into.

I assume that the Ricoh 7100 is a non-magnetic laser printer, since this toner can be printed on white items. I couldn't tell from their specs on the website link.

David,

I see that Laser Reproductions is a distributor of this, I may ask them about it when I get a hold of them re: C-86 clogs, since they won't call me back. >.<

John,

Don't throw your ink away, it may work well enough to make a few tie-dye shirts. :P

The day may come where you will be able to turn your clogged printers into memories.
