Full Version: Customer Care

I have had many a customer to deal with, but I am also a customer to my machine sales people. I did not seem to have any problems with my rep when I had 10 or 12 grand in my hand for a new machine. What have your shops had to deal with when you want to sell a piece of equipment? No one seems to have a great trade-in program or resale network. While national public advertising is one avenue used regularly, as well as new electronic services, do your selling entities reply to your needs on the, "I've decided to sell it!" end of your partnership?

Ron,

What equipment are you trying to sell?

At $10K-$12K (new), I'd assume you're referring to a computerized mechanical engraving system.

David,

I am preparing to sell a couple of computerized engravers, and a Millenium photo/badge color printer system. As well as everything from my closed business. My main question is really directed at equipment in general that people have had to deal with. To me it just seems that I get great attention upon purchase and feel like I am on the outside looking in on the flip side. Just curious if anyone has a good experience buying and selling through a vendor.

Ron

Ron,

Roy Brewer (Brewer Sales) has been known to deal in used equipment.

I suspect those items are taken as somewhat of a trade-in, when a person buys a new engraving system from Brewer Sales, but don't know for sure.

Ron,

I don't think this is a new phenomenon. A manufaturing company is much more interested in selling their equipment than buying it back. There is a much better chance of you maximizing the recapture of your investment on venues like this forum than trying to sell it back to the manufacturer or distributor. Remember, they will be offering you used-equipment wholesale on your equipment, where an end user will be paying you used-equipment market value. End users are not looking to resell it.

Could you provide us with more detail about what you want to sell so we can advise you of the best avenue to maximize the recapture of your investment?

It might also help to show were you are located; your profile is blank.

Grady Corp. in Crystal Lake, Il. also handles used equipment. You might want to contact Steve on Monday and talk with him. They are the Vision Rep. here in Illinois.

David,
Thanks for the response. You definately have that right on how the only thing they want is to sell you new. I've even called my rep and the factory, leaving a message with the people I believed thought more of my imput and ideas, to not have them return my calls. I will be posting some equipment for sell shortly.

Thank you,
Ron Strowger

Hello Mike,

Thanks for the heads up. I will look them up as I finish preparing my info lists for my equipment I will be selling.
