The meaning I took from John's post, says the original supplier of the award didn't furnish him with the artwork.
They found the old/lost artwork, created the award and gave John a wholesale price for the award.

This award has changed over the years, so as you say, why not now? It used to be a large silver revere bowl on a wood base.

I think it was Uncle Steve who suggested a change in design. Probably not a bad idea.
A Revere bowl on a wooden base is a classic combination, but as old school as you can get.
I was suggesting a change in the maker of the award, from one who apparently can't dredge up enthusiasm for the project, to an eager beaver.
A new maker, with new design concepts, may be the winning combination.
