Full Version: PhotoGrav or something else?

I have only had a few people so far ask me to laser photo images and using PhotoShop I did ok after several tries.

I'm thinking that if I am going to do more, then I need software to get it done with more consistent results and quicker than I am able the old fashioned way.

Is PhotoGrav worth the money? Or is there something else out there that is just as good or better for less money?

Please help! Thanks.

Howdy Russ!

There are several folks in this forum that do great work with photos by using only Photoshop.

I've only been doing photos for a little over a year, but I've found PhotoGrav to be a must-have. It gives great quality in a short time. I've also found that I have to do very little "tweaking" of the original photo to get my end result to turn out great.

For us, PhotoGrav was a good investment.

Photograv has more than paid for itself in the money I saved in wasted materials I would have gone thru experimenting.

It does not take much wasted marble before you have paid for the program.

Wood is less expensive but by the time I resaw, joint, plane, finish the select pieces there is a significant investment there also.

I am very glad I have the program.

You can search through the past threads for more detail, But two important factors: the material to be engraved, and the ability of your laser's driver(s).
