Can you heat transfer or sumblimation onto regular wood?
Just wondering, I have a few ideas I would like to try.

Check out the article on Color Laser Toner Transfer in the 'Tips and Tricks' folder.

Simple answer, yes, and easily.

Sonny,

Providing "regular" wood is coated with a polymer coating, it can be sublimated.

Heat transfer of OEM laser toner, to uncoated wood, is possible with special transfer papers.

What about ink jet transfers? can they be done?
I am more interested in the ink jet systems than laser.
Thanks
Sonny

I never tried ink jet transfers. The laser transfers are so perfect, no need to.

JBL Grahpics has a paper they sell for OEM Ink Jet that they contend works on wood. The wood must be very flat, smooth and pretty light in color for it to work.

I've had a couple of transfers sent to me by them to test and was not satisfied with the results.

I have done some transfers with laser oem using paper from Catctus Equipment with much success.

Doug
