OK, We have only just worked out that the weather in Las Vegas is very Chilly in March...and Freezing or Below in NY..
We have nothing at all that we would call snow clothes, Winter in Adelaide generally only requires a pullover/jumper/sweater and perhaps a rain jacket or parka.

We will be leaving 90F + temps ..What type of clothing would you recommend for NY ?

I live here in Las Vegas, march is very unpredictable, but generally I would say highs 65-70 degrees during the day and lows 45-50 degrees at night.......but we get a lot of wind that time of year here so it could be a bit blowy. I would say it hardly ever gets below 55 during the day (hardly ever does....except for today...high is supposed to be 52) or below 35 at night except for rare occasions down to 30.

I would suggest a cardigan type sweater over a shirt at maximum during the day. But at night I would think you would need a light to moderate coat...depends on what you are used to weather wise. Some people from really cold country think 40-50 degrees is warm.

Come visit our store while in vegas if you get the chance. 953 E. Sahara #A-32.

Peter,

We just returned from NY and it was 15 degrees with wind gusts over 40 mph while here in MT where it is suppose to be really cold, it was in the 40's. New York in March SHOULD be windy with daytime temp in the mid 40's to mid 50's.

Peter,
I am in a very similar situation in that it seldom gets below 75 here, BUT I find that long pants and a fleece lined jacket will work fine. You are going to be so enamoured with the sights, and getting to know America you will hardly feel the cold....
Vegas isn't that bad and won't be so cold that a brisk walk won't keep you warm........and besides, Kathy won't get jealous.

See you soon

Peter,

Pack warm clothes.

I did an Alaska cruise over the summer and you could tell who was from a warmer climate as they were bundled up while us New Yorkers were in t-shirts...As i write this in NY, it is 51 degrees....the weather is crazy this year....

One thing about Las Vegas...almost NOTHING is done outdoors. And everything else is climate controlled. Any questions?

BTW, I presume you are flying into Los Angeles. If so, are you then flying to Las Vegas? If you were by chance renting a car and driving from L.A. to Vegas, you will literally pass by our shop in Victorville, about 80 miles toward Vegas from L.A. We are about 170 miles from Las Vegas...across the desert.

That would have been my guess...and advice.

I'm looking forward to meeting you and Kathy. Maybe we can jump of some buildings together. B-)

Oh, that's easy......the Stratosphere. It's kind of like Seattle's Space Needle only taller....much taller.....with a roller coaster on top!
