Full Version: The envelope please

Today I received my ticket package to Race week in Florida at the Daytona speedway.

One of the things that was in the package was an offer for "laser etched" photographs.

The company that does the laser etching had worked a deal with the tour company to provide a pre addressed "cardboard" envelope similar to the fed ex envelopes, large enough to hold an 8x10 photograph.

Put your photo in the envelope and in a couple of weeks for the low price of $59.00, you will receive a piece of granite with the photo you submitted etched into it.

I wonder how many sales these folks get for very little expenditure. So the idea is to broker a deal with a local tour company in your area if there is one, to distribute these envelopes. I don't know if it is worthwhile or not, but I thought I'd mention it

They worked out a deal with NASCAR to send the envelopes with every ticket package they send out for all races. They pay NASCAR $$$ and also donate some of the profits to the Petty's Victory Junction camp. I believe this is the 3rd year they have been doing this.

They also had a trailer with 2 lasers in it to do the photo plaques at most races.
