Last year, at the recommendation of Harvey & Dee Lentchner, I stayed at Arizona Charlie's.
A little off the beaten path, but the price was right, food was good and the rooms were very clean.
I'm planning on staying there again, this year.
There are two locations. Boulder & Decatur locations.
Last year, I made reservations online and got the Decatur location and later found out Dee & Harvey were at the Boulder location. I wasn't able to change venues, so this year I'm shooting for the Boulder location.

I purchased the Las Vegas Advisor coupon book (apx. $50.00) and received a coupon good for two nights at the Hilton for $55.00 each night. Little higher than other places, but I love only carrying all the samples and brochures up the elevator :-) Plus I'm close to Quarks ;-) .

Zona,
How long ago did you book your room?

January 11. The coupon allows 2 nights Sun - Thursday. If you want to see if they have any rooms left before purchasing the coupon book call Las Vegas Hilton's toll free #. These are booked through VIP services ask for the Las Vegas Advisor $55.00 room rate. Then you go through group sales for any other nights at the ARA rate of $126.00 if you need more nights. There is no 'code' on coupon - you just have to present the coupon (still attached to book) at time of check in/out. If you get the room then go to www.lasvegasadvisor.com and purchase the coupon booklet. Come on David.....SW has cheap air fare out of KC if you purchase before the end of January.
:-)

Zona,
I'm still working on it. If I pull it off, I'll be flying out on Wednesday afternoon and returning late Friday evening.

David,
Sounds like we'd be on a similar timeline. I'll be showing up Wednesday and leaving Friday evening.
Hope you can make it, but it's not always easy, timewise, or affordable, to get away.

Nope, have to sell my sticks to make the trip. :D
Actually, my sticks haven't seen much sun in the past five years. I still have fond memories of the game that actually financed the start-up of the business I now enjoy.
Not just the fear of making a complete career change, but also the starting of a new business from scratch, would cause anyone to put their leisure interests on the back burner. As my business continues to grow, I will surely re-claim some of that leisure time, along with the dusting off of the golf clubs.
Things are looking up on this front, as I have interviewed my first employee prospect this past Saturday. I recruited her. If she accepts the position, I will be excited about the positive impact she will have on the continued growth of the business. Even more exciting than that will be the personal and professional growth she will gain from working in such a great industry.

Looking forward to meeting you as well.
There's ample parking at the Convention Center (pay) or if you don't mind a bit of a walk, from the adjacent LV Hilton, you can park there free.
I've usually driven, while in Vegas, so I don't have much experience in the other methods of getting around.

Chris,
About the only rule about driving in Vegas is:
1. Don't drive on the "Strip" unless you have plenty of time.......
from the Sahara south to the MGM Grand can get very busy.
Your van will be great for getting around.......I'm sure you won't have any problem filling up those other 6 seats ;-)
