Full Version: CarveWright ?

I came upon CarveWright on a woodworking forum. Anyone have any experience with this unit? Looks like it might be fairly limited, I don't know how easy it would be to use it's software to make new designs not based on their included 3-d clipart. But it still looks interesting.

Any thoughts?

I agree it is interesting.
Looks like you would drop about $3000 for the unit plus all the bits and shipping. If you could find a builder looking for custom woodwork you might be able to pay for it with one or two orders.
Too bad you did not find this two weeks ago - I am in the KC area and would probably have gone to the show to see it.

I'm not a woodworker, so I don't now what applications the machine would be good for. The 15" maximum width, makes it seem limited to me.

If I had a machine like that, I'd have more use for custom designs, logos, etc., as opposed to the stock designs.

Creating 3-D images, from scratch, is a whole new ballgame.

I watched the sample movie and noticed there's no vacuum chip collector.
