Happy Birthday! Thanks for sharing your day with my wife and I on our 14th Anniversary.
There is a cloud hanging over this special day for us with the passing of my wife's grandmother late yesterday. We plan to celebrate at a later date when our spirits are lifted.

Jill is doing a little better today, but Saturday and Sunday will be tough.
She's a pretty incredible gal. Here is one of those little things that makes her so special.
She was at the hospital during her grandmother's final day on earth. I checked in frequently on her cell phone to see how things were going. Fortunately, Jill had the opportunity to share some parting words with her grandmother , but the doctor eventually put her on a morphine drip to comfort her as her body began shutting down.
On several of my calls to Jill I could hear a very loud labored breathing. I made the comment to Jill that I didn't know how she could sit there for all those hours under the strain of the heavy breathing. Her comment, "It's not about what's comfortable for me, it's all about what my grandmother needs right now, and that's someone holding her hand and being beside her." Wow, you've got to love a person with that spirit. What's even better is that I get to spend every day of my life with her.
