Full Version: Software Question

Hello all,
I am new to engraving and just purchased a laser. One of the things I would like to get into is engraving legend plates for some of the local machine builders. My question is what software are you using to make tags? I have Corel Draw 11, Microsoft Word & Excel. I know it can be done in Corel Draw but is there a better way?

I'm sure this has been covered somewhere in the archives but I have not stumbled across the best solution. This forum has been a wealth of knowledge already, thanks in advance for your advice.

JD:

Are you looking for such features as sequential numbering, etc.?

We use Corel almost exclusively for these types of things.

Right now I don't see a need for sequential numbering. But you never know.
If you have standard templates that you use, are they something you created or are templates available to download from somewhere?

Our jobs are almost always custom setups, but once the setup is complete it's very reusable for that customer.

Remember: keep a concise naming/numbering convention or organization for your files.........
AND ALWAYS - DO BACKUPS!!

Good Luck.
