Impressive!

How many on average do you do a week?

Depends on how many donations we have and how much shop work I have to do. The requests just keep coming tho.

I go to the Post Office every Saturday after work and we are ecstatic if we sent out 1250 - 1500 tags. That is about $40 - 55.00 in Postage alone.

All of our donations are still from regular people mostly from this area. Not one large corporation, celebrity or grant has come our way.

Rosa, I am still available to do some lasering for you. Just have the tags sent to me.

I thoroughly enjoyed doing the first batch you sent.

Thanks
Harold

Thank You. We really did appreciate the help and I hope you received some letters from the soldiers.
Unfortunately we don't have enough funding to be able to justify drop shipping at this time. We thought we had a deal in place with our local newspaper where we would sell subscriptions and make $ for the project but I think they really just wanted to be able to SAY they support the troops and not have to do anything. I can't believe I was surprised when they didn't hold up their end!
I am doing my best trying to get more donations. I will certainly contact you again if we are in a position to be able to drop ship tags.
Thank You SO much for your support. I know the soldiers and kids appreciate it as well.
Rose

Rose,

Congrats on a job well done. I'm impressed that you have managed to keep going. I remember when you thought the 100,000 mark would be a huge milestone...now you've far surpassed that!

Let me know what you could use and we'll be happy to help again where we can!

Thank You. You have helped so much I feel guilty asking for help again. Right now we are saving up for chains. We need to save up $1,000.00 to buy 10,000 at a time to get the price and free freight from NY. If we are fortunate enough to get another $115.00 soon we can buy 564 Mother's Day cards to send to the troops so they can send them home.

If we could just get the project National attention I really think everyday people would step up. We have seen that large corporations, celebrities and people of means don't seem to "get it" but normal people do. Besides that there are 150,000 kids out there with a tag. Their families have no idea where that tag came from other than Dad or Mom sent it. Also, Celebrities and Large Corporations seem to step up when a project or cause is popular.

We have a contact Mom who is from Florida who is stationed in Afghanistan and has handed out quite a few tags. I am sure she is available to do a story for any newspaper or TV station.

I won't/can't quit, there is always one more child who could use a tag.

Rose-

I just sent you enough to cover your chains ... keep up the good work. These guys need all the support they can get.

Hi Brett,

Although I won't speak for Rose, I wanted to thank you for your help with this on behalf of everyone serving overseas. We got involved with Rose early on in this project and have always felt it was a terrific endeavor on her part, regardless of where one's politics may lie.

Thank you again, I'm sure you know how much your contribution will mean to the kids that receive these tags and to those serving overseas that are earning them!

HI Rose,

No reason to feel bad about asking, after all you're the one doing all of the work!

I'm still amazed that this project has not garnered more national attention or that some of the "Big Boys" have not stepped up to the plate. It certainly hasn't been for lack of trying on your part or others. We tried in vain to get the local media to get involved especially since Florida , like other places, has plenty of troops over there.

In any event I'm glad to see Brett come through with the help you needed for the chains...so what's next? Bags, tags or something else?

As long as you're willing to keep going, there are some of us out here willing to go the extra steps with you. Congratulations again on a wonderful job!

Thank You SO much. I have to tell you that my cousin in Michigan takes care of all the requests and donations on the web site. She woke me up with a phone call this morning she was so excited! Tell you what, it got me out of bed!

Someone told me a while ago that there are two kinds of people who donate. Those that donate because they get recognition out of it and those who donate from the heart. We have not had any donors who have done it for recognition. All of our donations have come directly from the heart.

I know that the project would be a lot richer if it were the other way around, but I know that my heart is much richer this way.

I don't have the proper words to thank you for this donation and for the donation you quietly made last year. Please look at the faces of the children on the web site. You helped create those smiles!

I ordered the chains today, the price went up but they are keeping the price the same for us, they said they are proud to be part of this project. I have been fortunate to have come accross some amazing people in the past year and a half.

Thank You Again!
Rose

I bought a large amount of bags the last time so we are in good shape. We can always use more tags.
The price on the tags also went up too, but they are holding that price for us as well. (Like I said, I've been very lucky with the people I have met) You included of course! Let me know if you need the info again for Chewbarka.
Whatever you would like to do.
Thank You so much, your help is SO appreciated!

Not a problem Rose, I just spoke with Frank and Terry at Chewbarka Tags, and several thousand plus in green will be on the way!

For anyone else interested in sending some tags, you can contact the good folks at Chewbarka at 401-464-9911 in RI. Email address is chewbarka8809@yahoo.com and their website is www.chewbarka.com. They have also been wonderful in supporting this project and have agreed to include some extras on them!

Keep us posted on your progress Rose. The difference you have made in some of these kid's lives has been a remarkable undertaking and I hope you truly garner the admiration and support you deserve for doing so!

Thank You. (Again, I am at a loss at how to thank you adequately)
I wish I could get the words out from my heart.

I have no idea what it is like for a parent to miss their child since I don't have kids. I always think about how frustrating it must have been for the Navy Commander who's 6 yr old refused to talk to him for 6 1/2 months because he was so mad at him for being gone. I picture him sitting there every time he hung up the phone after another unsuccessful attempt to get him to talk to him. Being so far away and feeling so helpless to do anything about it. Who knew this little tag could make such a difference?

There are so many stories we will never even know about. Thank you for making them happen!

Actually Rose, it's *YOU* who have made a difference. It has been your perseverance and dedication to making this project happen that has been a source of inspiration for many, and a source of delight for thousands and thousands of kids.

Politics aside, one has to appreciate what our troops are going through and you don't have to be a parent to feel for the children left behind. Your drive to continue this and follow through is nothing short of amazing, and I for one, tip my hat to you!

It has been our pleasure to help and thanks are not necessary. We only hope that you continue to put smiles on the faces of those affected, and that you will receive the accolades that are truly deserved.

All the thanks go to you, and I hope others will join in and express that in more ways than one!

Rose,

I give YOU a standing round of applause, as I am sure all of the servicemen who have used your tags will join in.

You have honored me by your commitment to this project. That means more to me than any pat on the back ever could. I can say it a million times: Lots of people think that if they Say they support the troops, that is enough. You and I know that is just the first step.

We are all set, the tags will be shipped to Harold Bieber in Ga. who has offered to engrave them and then ship them to us. The chains are on their way compliments of Brett Halle of Comet Technologies. By the way, a couple of the seniors who do the bagging are WWII vets, one has cancer but loves doing the tags. He gets so excited when he receives letters from the soldiers!
Thank You All!

I would also like to thank Steve Roehik from Indygital Design & Printing.
We received tags in the mail today that he had been working on for us.
Thank You Steve

Rose-

The small contribution I made pales compared to the time, effort, and commitment you and others have put into this. I feel honored to be able to assist in any way -- those in the military (and their families) have made great sacrifices that I cannot even imagine.

Thank you for bringing honor to our profession and a smile to the children.

Thank you for bringing honor to our profession and a smile to the children

When I started this, I had hoped it would be embraced by the engraving and sublimation industries since it really is an example of what we do. I thought it was a perfect way for our industry to Support The Troops.

Thank You and the others in the industry who understand that.

Thank You Bret Dedmore (Shaddy) for getting behind the dog tags project. You will be bringing a little joy into so many lives.

I am attaching a picture of a magnetic ribbon that I made for one of our volunteers who's grandson is in Iraq. Everyone in her family has one on their car now as do I. It makes a nice gift for someone worried about a family member.
