Hello,
I am new to this group. I appreciate all of you sharing your info with everyone, including people like myself, new.
I do have a question. I have a son that wants a car one color decal type cut with the laser. I know to watch for PVC, but still I am not sure what type of vinyl, thickness, etc I am looking for, there are so many. I just want the kind that clings or even a light adhesive.
The kids are always wanting something from moms shop! Any ideas what material to use? Any help is appreciated.

Welcome to the forum
Most vinyls contain PVCs with only a few exceptions. - If your son wants a vinyl sticker for his car - why not have a sign maker cut it for you with his vinyl cutter.
Sometimes using right tool for the right material is the best option - and many times less expensive.

Yes, I should say, vinyl like material. I have heard of others lasering those, but never got the details of what they were using. I would like to do it myself and not go to a vinyl cutter, as I would like to make several different ones for the vehicles. But, maybe that won't work:(

I'd suggest you contact one of the following vendors who are quite knowledgeable about tapes, foils, magnetic materials and would be able to make a recommendation as to which might withstand outdoor requirements. My first thought would be the magnetic material which can be both engraved and cut with your laser.
