Full Version: Epson C86 / XP Bug

I have a friend with an Epson C86 ink jet printer, who is running XP.

When they send a page to the printer, they can only print one, before having to reboot the computer.

I think Harvey was the person who said he'd run across that bug and was able to conquer the problem with another driver, downloaded from the Epson site.

Anyone else run across this? If so, which driver did the trick?

Thanks,

David,

I don't know so hurry up with the answer because I have one machine that is happening on. I just use a different computer to print to that machine as a workaround. I will be standing by with a worm on my tounge (baited breath) :D

It is on the Epson website. The one that worked for me was epson11350.exe.

The others did not. One trick is to disconnect the printer's USB cable, and delete the driver that exists. Then run the exe program and allow it to do all of the installation. Do not plug the cable back in until it tells you to do so, and do not let XP do the installation. XP will try to do that, just ignore that, do not click anywhere on the XP box. It may take five minutes to detect the printer properly, because XP is also looking for things. Just do not get impatient, allow the Epson program to do its thing.

I have the file saved, but it is over 7 MBytes and there might be a copyright problem if I put it up on my website for you to download.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks Harvey,

I will try it and see if it will work on my printer. :-)
