Does anyone know if you can sublimate ribbon. If so, what is the source to pruchase the ribbon.
Thanks,
Larry

Try a craft store or a fabric store. They carry polyester ribbons that sublimate extremely well. On DSSI there were people mentioning the minor problems and solutions of subbing nylon ribbon also.
If memory serves, the nylon shrunk a little bit and needed to be pre-heated to stabilize it. Check on DSSI just to be sure on the nylon.

Larry,
I hotstamp ribbon, so I have naturally tried to sublimate it as well. I did not like the result, it was blurry. If the customer wants smaller ribbons, like to put inside of garments, then I just use regular t-shirt transfer paper in my laser printer and apply. the glue on the paper gives it a little more body (but not stiff).

Thanks for your help. We'll try polyester and see how it works.

This is interesting. It sounds as if you were at the genesis of the direct printing industry. :-)
How did you feed the ribbon through your printer? Did you attach them to a thin carrier sheet?
