Full Version: Help!! Always buying ink!!

I am new to the sublimation game. I have a C88 and use Sublijet. I am having to order ink constantly which leads me to believe I may be using the wrong settings. How do I get the best quality image on the least amount of ink. I use cartridges and am so new to this, I don't want to bite the bulk system bullet yet. I use the PowerDriver Pro IQ
C88 print driver.
Thanks for any help.

I have a C86 and a 3000.

The ink in the 3000 seems to last a long while, the C86 is a different story.

First are your prints the right color and the correct brightness after transfer? If yes then you are set up correctly, if dark and off color, the profile is not set up properly and you will use too much ink.

On the C86 I learned by using a lot of ink, that it does a clean every time the power is turned on. Once turned on it is left on the whole day. That seems to use less than 1/4 of the ink than turning it on two or three times a day. It still feels to be an excessive amount compared to what the 3000 uses. The C88 may work that way also.

Becky,

I have the C-86 and changed to Bulk, those cartridges hold a very small amount of ink, so you will be buying carts very often. It is expensive to change over but hopefully the machine will last long enough to pay for the bulk system.
