Full Version: Help cutting inside text before outside

I know someone has the solution to this. I have been using the contour tool in X3 to thicken up text and it works great.

I have ran into a problem with vector cutting plastic letters. Now and then the outside of a letter is cut and drops down before the laser engraver has a chance to cut out the center. Your help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks...........Richard Olson

Do you not have a vector sorting option in your laser driver?

Most lasers will allow 8-16 colours to be cut , the lasers normally cut the colours in order , like ours will do black first and then do other colours. Change the insided of the letters to the first colour the laser will cut and then the outside to the next . Send both colours with the same cutting power and speed , it will do the insides and then the outsides.

Rodney's solution if by far the best, but...

If you do not have the option of selecting colors for outputs, (which in the ULS cut from the top color to the bottom), you will have to use the 'Object Manager' in Corel.

In the object manager the item at the bottom of the list is sent out first. Keep the insides of the letters at the bottom of the list. You can drag them in order so the cuts are in a logical order to prevent you from jumping across the item, they will cut a lot faster by organizing the order to cut the next nearest object.

[This is added for those that do not have color selection, and for those that want a properly sorted cutting order.]
