Look around yourself. You will see these tags on cars, refrigerators, computers, blenders, and just about any product category you can think of.
My most recent orders were for 1,000 and 5,000 labels. I would not want to tie up my limited, in-house, production capacity with a doming job that size. (plus, I don't even offer in-house doming at this time) That is where outsourcing comes in.
I found a company in Utah that does an incredible job with domed labels. I have found no one that comes close to their pricing. You would not be sacrificing quality by choosing to do business with this company.
This company does sell retail, but they also offer wholesale pricing.
