Full Version: Preferred Supplier Banner Ads

For those of you who have already responded to our "Quid Pro Quo" advertising offer, I have the pixel dimensions, to which your artwork should be designed.

All banners ads will be the same size as you see exhibited, at the top of this page, in the way of the EJ and A&E/NBM banner ads.

Here are the pixel dimensions:

468 x 60

No animated ads will be allowed.

For those of you wishing to take advantage of this no-brainer, win-win advertising opportunity, to this prime demographic, here's our deal:

1) We're asking of you, an offer that is exclusive to the members of this forum, or members of our sister forum, DSSI. Please mention the nature of your exclusive offer in the ad.

2) The special offer is entirely up to you.

3) Remaining a preferred supplier is easy and follows a straight-forward principle: Keep your offer exclusive and have (or develop) a track record of reputable business practices and exemplary customer service.

If those basic requirements prove too daunting a task, not only won't you be allowed in; if you're already in; you're out!

It's that simple.

Note: It's not necessary that a preferred supplier have a web site, in order to participate.
We'll post your graphic, which should include the nature of your exclusive offer and contact information.

If you're an industry supplier, who wants to advertise to our group, without an exclusive offer, contact EJ, A&E, Recognition Review or any number of trade publications, to which our members subscribe.

Have your credit cards ready. They're waiting for your call. :-)

Thank you Frank.

Very generous offer to our members. We appreciate it!

Even though we haven't posted our "Preferred Supplier" web page yet, (coming very soon) I encourage all of our members, who can use your products, to jump on that offer.

I do not know if you put it in there or someone else did, but when I went to add the link, it was already there.

Click on the ad and a new window will open with your website.

David;

I authored and sell Windows software for creating Data Matrix symbols. Data Matrix symbols are a 2D 'bar code'. It's actually a symbology and not a bar code, but it works sort of like a bar code. You may have heard about Data Matrix symbols through the Engraver's Journal as the government program to track all of their stuff. Maybe you read my article?

Since my program may be beneficial to list subscribers that want to pursue this market (or if they just want to be able to create Data Matrix symbols for other reasons) and it works alongside/with CorelDraw, could I advertise my software on this forum if I offered a 10% discount for list subscribers only? The software 'retails' for $49.50. You can get more information here. And you can try my online version Data Matrix creation software for FREE here. I guess I could bribe the list moderators with an ABSOLUTELY FREE copy. Naw, I guess that wouldn't be ethically correct....

If you think this is a shamefully derived advertising plug, please feel free to delete this post. I will not be offended in the least.

Thanks.

Carl,

We gleefully welcome your offer. Thank you. :-)

The UID market, from what I've read in EJ, is set to explode in the near future.

I sheepishly have to admit to not having seen your EJ article, although I've seen several articles, on the subject, penned by Stephen Spence.

Not only do we welcome your exclusive offer to our members, but when you find time, we'd love to hear more about the burgeoning UID market and how our members can take advantage of what it has to offer.

You sound like a prime contender for a Teleseminar, which if you haven't followed that thread, is a recorded interview, which can be listened to, by forum members at their leisure.

Thanks again,

Steve,

That may be another burgeoning industry, but I doubt we'll base a TeleSeminar on it. :-)

Sorry, I don't participate in nor do I follow the UID market, so I don't think I'd have anything to offer in that regard. The one article I wrote for EJ was on the data format for Data Matrix symbols that are one component of the UID initiative. There are also links on the EJ site to my website with my CreateADMx software and also a special page I developed just for EJ on creating UID compliant Data Matrix symbols.

You certainly don't need to buy my CreateADMx software to participate in the UID market, as long as the on-line version is up-and-running (7 years now?), but the Windows version does have more to offer. And there are certainly a host of other products that can be purchased to participate in the UID market.

I spent many years employed by a vision company as the engineering lead at their R&D lab producing (DPM - direct part marking, no labels) Data Matrix symbols on just about every substrate imaginable, using just about every process imaginable (the company claimed 140 something processes, but I never took the time to count), either directly or through technology partners. I had the advantage of producing and reading/evaluating Data Matrix symbols with direct access to both sides of the equation: marking and reading.

My software, CreateADMx, was created after I left that company as a personal challenge. It has the properties that I would have wanted/needed/used while I was still actively involved in the Data Matrix symbology (and not from an end-user standpoint). I certainly don't make a living off the sales from my software. The market segment that I wrote CreateDMX for is extremely small. I knew going into development that I would not and could not even begin to recoup a portion of my investment in development.

As time permits, I could certainly attempt to answer any questions regarding UID and Data Matrix, which I have been doing through my website for many, many, years. However, my information would be dated in both areas.

Carl,

Thank you for the clarification.

Please create a banner ad, with a mention of your special EE offer. We welcome you as a preferred supplier.

Frank,

Are you able to handle an order of 800 of your business card (3.5 X 2) tags. Waiting for our pool comittee to decide. Will need 200 each of red, blue, gold and green. I hate HOA's, it takes waay too long for the decisions to be made. Anyway let me know. By the way, your tags are great, I think I've done over a 1000 of them, the highschoolers are eating them up. teachers also.

Jody
