Full Version: PDU Web product

I'm surprised there hasn't been much discussion about the new PDU web site for dealers. It looks like a great marketing tool. The main drawback being its' ability to only handle PDU products.

I'm not finding the past thread, but the PDU product has been discussed.

I think the consensus was along the same lines as yours. There was talk of making the program to list products, other than PDU, but that was said to be down the road.

I don't know what kind of response PDU has had for this product.

It think it was discussed after the LV ARA show. It may be burried in one of those threads.

Ken,

I think I placed it under its own thread, but couldn't uncover it.

I'll do a little more digging.

I had a follow up about the questions I had for the PDU rep.
The orignial price quoted was around $1200.

Since it is hosted on their web server, I thought that was strange since it sounded like they were selling a one time software as opposed to a monthly web server fee.

The follow up said the $1200 is for a year or about $100 per month. All of it is done on their server. You can set it up as your only website or link to it from your own website. You can pick and choose which PDU products you want to show but won't be able to add non-PDU items at least at first.
They have some acrylics, medals and plaques in addition to trophy parts.

The customer will be able to customize the items and enter the text to see how it looks. There will be a shopping cart and credit card payment options.

Here is the previous discussion.

Thank you for the interest in PDU Web Connect. The interest at both Las Vegas and in New Jersey was very rewarding. In order to better demonstrate the product we are finishing up a Beta Site (next couple of weeks) that will allow one that has an interest in the concept to actually do a tour or play in the actual product (not sure how to word that).

The url will be available from your PDU salesperson or from PDU customer service.

Sincerely,

Lyle King
PDU

By the way we will not be hosting the site. It will be in a very secure site in Texas with back up, 7-24 back up service, and all the necessary security.
