A post will show as edited, if moved from one folder to another. Many are originally posted to the "General Discussion" folder and moved to a more appropriate folder.
This is done to make searches more fruitful.
Sometimes, a post, i.e, laser-related, is asking for sources of supplies etc., in which case they're moved to the "Where Can I Find" folder, where suppliers are free to grind their axes.
In any case, editing doesn't mean a member's post has been altered in any way, with the rare exception of a typo being corrected, or a mistyped url link corrected.
