You cannot sub a white color - there is no such animal.

Your assessment is correct. You can sub on the silver and the white portion of the art will show as silver or you can sub on a white metal and the white portion will show as white. You will find it difficult to get an acceptable silver color on the white metal.

When we sub on silver or gold metal, we tell our customer that the white portion of the art will show as the metal color (silver or gold). This is usually acceptable, but can be a problem.

lj,

In sublimation, as in standard desktop publishing, you get all of your colors through a percentage variation of Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black. It is obvious that you cannot get white out of a combination of any of those colors.

One of the limitations of sublimation is that it does not produce the white part of any image. If you want white, you need to use a white substrate.

How bout a good steady hand, and a bottle of white out?

Sorry, pretty tired.
