Full Version: Freehand tool drawing with arrows?

The auto tracing does not give the results I need.
Is there a way to lock in the freehand tool and use the arrow keys for drawing instead of using the mouse?
Trying to trace a hand drawing that they want to look that way and not perfectly straight lines made from shapes.
It would be easier to follow the lines with the freehand tool if you could engage it and scroll with the arrow keys instead of with the mouse.
This would be similar to scrolling around the screen with the [alt] and arrow keys.

I've never done what you're describing, but wouldn't drawing with arrow keys, give results like an Etch-A-Sketch; meaning difficulty in drawing curves?

But it would be handy if you were tracing something with a lot of vertical or horizontal lines. Easier to keep them straight than clicking both ends.
I have the graphire tracing tablet that was the free rebate with X3.
Maybe Ill take the time and try and hook it up.

I was mainly hoping there was a way since it seems to come up fairly often.

You do know the CTRL key keeps the lines orthogonal, right? Polyline tool would be good for what you describe.

Sometimes you just assume there isn't an easy way and keep doing it the hard way.
