Sigh....it was a splendid time... I think ARA should do something similar......unfortunately I won't be able to attend the NBM show this year

have fun for me.

There is also something to be said about attending a show that is in your own back yard. Of course, I wouldn't know what that is, I've never seen a show offered within a day's driving distance of my back yard. :'-(

There's a reason I only attend a couple of shows (within driving distance) per year.

Location, location, location. :-)

I'm still looking forward to presenting the Engraving Etc. Live! event, in the Midwest.

The NBM CA show is the only one I do not attend because it is so far from my backyard :-(

What is this Mid-West engraving Etc. thing?

Tom,

After we become a subscription site, I plan to schedule our first Engraving Etc. Live! event. It will be held at an Embassy Suites, in the Kansas City area.

Roy Brewer has already agreed to be a presenter, as has Paul Whitehill, of Images in Tile and Bison Coatings.

I'll most likely do a presentation on sublimated awards.

We have so many topics we can cover, it will be a narrowing down process..

Of course, a rousing Q&A, covering all things A&E related, will be part of the festivities.

Remember to register (online), for the Long Beach show, before June 21, in order to avoid the $10 charge for entering the show floor.

No charge, if you pre-register before that date.

Since I didn't see "The Bash" mentioned anywhere in the show promotion, I checked with Dave Pomeroy (A&E Publisher) who says, by all the means, the Bash will be held, Friday July 21st at the Renaissance Hotel, beginning at 7:30 pm.

David:

St. Louis would be a far better location--a real DESTINATION city. Home of the Arch, the Cardinals, Bud and Schlafly's and half-way between KC and Indy.

Also half-way between Philly and LA.

Besides being "Home of The Arch" isn't that also the "Home of Mike N."? :-)

Mike,

I know you would never suggest a location for a trade show, based shearly on your self-interest.

At least, not any more than I would try to generate excitement for a show located near me. :P

The Long Beach NBM show will be a little different than the remaining NBM shows in the lineup?

How's that?

The International Marking and Identification Association (IMIA) will join the NBM shows, in a different city each year.

What's IMIA?

In simple terms, the IMIA represents the rubber stamp industry.

This year marks the addition of the IMIA at the Long Beach show location.

David, Didn't IMIA go in with ARA a few years back?

Dave,

I'm not sure. I remember reading in one of the trade magazines that shows were being combined, but can't remember if ARA was including IMIA in theirs.

This latest announcement was from Steve Wieber, from the most recent issue of A&E magazine.

David,

If that's the case, we're definitely outnumbered by the rest of the country. :-)
