Full Version: Stubborn File

I'm having trouble importing an .ai file into CorelDRAW. I've tried X3 and 12. I've also tried Illustrator 9. Anyone with a current version of Illustrator may be able to help. I can't attach the image to this post because it is about 673K. At that size, it may even be a bitmap within a vector file. Send me your e-mail address and I'll send you the file.

Thanks for all the offers to help. Bobkat was quick on the draw and took care of me. Thanks Robert!

My suspicions were correct in that this was a bitmap image saved within a vector file. It was quite miserable at that. Its' already been sent off to Pete Bertrand to perform his magic.

Have you thought about asking Pete if he wants to supply a banner and/or EE discount?

He would be one person I would not want to ask for a discount. At $12, I don't know of any domestic companies with a price much less than that, with outstanding service. I've never had to send artwork back to Peter for further tweeking.

What we might do is offer him a free banner ad for all of the great service he provided to our members in the past for prices as low as $9.

Give him a free one, $12 is a real bargain for what he does.

I think he should get a banner ad for free. But I understand it would be hard to draw the line for that sort of thing, once you make exceptions, you might be expected to keep making them. Still might be a deal somewhere in there though. Maybe buy 5 conversions and get one for free. up to him I know, but it would be nice to see him up there since everyone here will send people his way anyway. Wouldn't hurt to approach and see. Maybe he's busy enough and wouldn't even want one (c:

Shadster,

I spoke (emailed) Pete, when we first began discussing our preferred supplier program.

He was interested, but wasn't sure what form his offer would take.

Initially, Pete was contemplating a subscription format. Not sure what that would entail.

I'll ask again, since it's been quite a while since I first raised the issue.

I can just picture a sweat shop in Beijing with 500 grandmothers sitting at computers day and night pumping out clean graphic conversions....

But first he would have to buy the land and build a small town called USA (pronounced "ooosah") so everything can be marked as "Made in USA" ! :S

You're welcome. It was the least I can do, and everybody says I always do the least I can do!
