Following a member's suggestion I am moving the gripe session from another thread to here.

Just ask me on the first forum you posted the question and I'll answer what I can.

Does that mean I should stop answering questions on your forum but direct them here?

I thought we were above all of that. Oh well.

Before you get your undies in a bunch....here is a thought to consider. Sprinter most likely monitors the other forum more closely, so it may be a convenience thing for him to direct the newbie to the other site in order to better help him. I had hoped all of this childish animosity had passed.

No childish animosity; just common sense.

Except for a recent glitch, which resulted in some people not receiving their email notifications, people know when they're being addressed within a thread. Doesn't matter which forum.

In all my years of forum participation, I've always responded to questions, and given answers, on the forum from which the question arose.

The thought of giving an answer and directing a person to another forum, for an ensuing exchange, never crossed my mind.

There are times when I've posted an identical message to multiple forums, but any and all responses have been handled separately, within the respective forums.

Not saying my example needs to be followed, but I think it's more respectful to the various forums.

Normally I agree with you, but he wanted to email me with additional questions. He originally posted on the other forum first and I monitor it more than here, I felt I could better help him there.

As you have seen, I am still posting replies on your forum. I will NOT play those games.

My discussion with Sprinter ended amicably, why are you pressing for contention?

It didn't sound to me that your "discussion" with Sprinter ended amicably, "I will NOT play those games."; it sounds more like you chumped him off. It sounded to me from your first post that you were ticked off, and wanted to make sure everybody knew it, otherwise, why reply to it at all? You could have sent a private email telling Sprinter he was a bonehead, or made an error in judgement, or whatever. Your original snippy comments are what I saw; maybe it is just me, but I still see alot of animosity since the new site was set up. I could be wrong, although it has never happened before. I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken!

It was a minor disagreement and settled. There is no animosity unless it is on your part. I will give you the benefit of the doubt.

Maybe you need to do that also.

Why are we, (chastising myself also), mucking up this thread with this trash. Let's end it now and allow the members to get information about Cyril that they need.

If you feel the need to rake me over the coals let's do it in the 'Topic of your choice' folder. I see no need to but it is your choice.

One thing that's always confounded me about forums, are people who ask questions in public, then ask to carry out the rest of the conversation in private emails.

Kind of defeats the purpose of a forum thread. <shrug>

That's why I usually won't do it in private. It defeats the sharing and learning experience for other members.

I agree with that sentiment.

I occasionally receive private emails, with various questions, and I'll often say:

"Ya know what? That's a great question for the forum. Why not ask it there, so everyone can get in on the information, not to mention, receive a collective opinion?"

Makes sense to me. :-)

And the topic of this thread is what? Was there an original question, or is this just a bitch session. Let's talk about engraving. We should be using this as a forum to discuss engraving and etc. Maybe there should be another folder set up called Bitch Bitch Bitch. Then those who need to vent can just go right to the proper folder. (devil)

And the name of the folder should be "Whiner's Corner".

David,

You're short-changing our prize-winning gripers, with that title.

It should be called "The Whiner's Circle of Excellence." :-)

Fortunately, there isn't a great deal of griping around here. That's one of the things I like about this place.
