Does anyone have any storage suggestions for trophy figures.
We are going to reorganize our figures/trophy area. We are going to get stacking bins that we can move around. Right now we have metal dividers and metal front plates that are not moveable, we are going to take off the front plates and the dividers and use removeable bins.

I think my main question is do you keep the following together and in alpha order:

figures/trim/risers/lids/stems/cups (and all of the other etc...things that right now are not coming to mind).

What about the small amounts (say 1-10 pc) of things you only on occasion use but have and want to find easily (instead of reordering because you forgot/can't find it).

I would like to keep everything together, right now we have things in boxes in one part of the store as well as on metal shelves in another part of the store.

I have attached a few pictures of our storage now.

I don't do trophys, but I have a lot of inventory. I use 2'x4'x7' industrial boltless shelving, with lots of extra shelves added, and use cardboard bin trays that are 24" deep by 4", 6", and 8" wide. You can fit a huge amount of them on each shelf unit.

For items that need more than 8" wide I use clear storage tubs from WalMart on those same shelf units.

Here's 3 shelves on one side of the room. There's another 8 shelves opposite them:

I have all of my bins numbered from 100 up. I have different sizes in different places but the numbers are in order. When I only carry 5 of an item I find the appropriate size bin and put them in it. How do I find it when I want it? I have a binder filled with baseball card holders in it. I cut out the picture of the figure from the catalog, staple it to the back of a business card size piece of card stock and write the bin number on the top right. I file the cards in the book alphabetically.
When I am looking for a part, if it isn't in the book, it's not on the shelves. I can use the bins most efficiently for space and I can move things around any time I want. On the cards I also have the part number so I can re-order easily. I also put the price group.

I also use the baseball card holders for mylars. So many times you only keep a few of each. This way I can group them by category and let the customer pick the one they want. I just cut them individually and use both sides of the pockets.
